It has been described by some as an event where success and escape weigh equal measure. The hell in a cell event replaced the no mercy event in 2009. The concept is that the wrestling event happens inside a 24 foot roofed steel cell structure. The steal cage surrounds the ring, completely isolating it from the ringside area. The only way to win is through submission inside the ring or pinfall. The wrestler cannot leave or escape the ring.
